Never cared much for the way the hood support rod was laid out. Very inconvenient to say the least.....and often in a guy’s way.

Easy fellas, just an old curmudgeon makin’ life easier....

Do I see a one piece apron and cab?

My nephew said it pretty much was welded like it is. This truck is not what’s considered a conventional build. It has a 2006 Chevy Silverado chassis under it.
Had to widen the fenders out (4 inches) along with modifying the (inner fender supports) added alot of weight.

When a guy goes against the status quo you quickly become the “red headed stepchild” of the website. In spite of that, so far,....I like how it has come out, and even more I thoroughly enjoy my freedom of expression.

Plus,... I don’t have to put up with that 🤬 hood support rod anymore !!

This front bib hinge indirectly supports quite a bit of the added weight. Courtesy of C.G. Streetrods. 🇺🇲

Dont let the comments get you too bent out of shape. There’s a ton of work in your build and it was put together exactly how you wanted it. Now you get to enjoy the best part...driving it.

Amen !

My apologies looks to be well done I’m just becoming an old curmudgeon myself I’m kinda partial to old 45s and have turned into a purist. Enjoy your ride we’ll see you in the trail.

Hey 👍 so much appreciate that !
Very, very, much ! Sometimes I text something and figure everyone else has to KNOW just what I mean. (...in this instance being about the support arm)...but that isn’t always the case. Sorry for that.

The “Purist” intent isn’t all bad. They represent the models original identity,..yet, there’s room for the “free styler” too, hopefully, if things are done tastefully.
Here again, most of us on this site know just what I mean. We are all embarrassed by some CREATIONS we’ve seen....(OH the HORROR ! ) as one thread I once read said ! 😂There are risks involved in modifying anything, and if it doesn’t L👀K right...it becomes even more costly...THAN THINGS ALREADY WERE cause ya gotta start over, or tear it off. (Others peoples opinions are vitally needed & must be evaluated honestly.)

Proportionately...for what my brother-in-law pulled off, seems to look OK, (to me.) Since the Silverado chassis/differential being (app.9 inches wider) now has an FJ45 Body sitting above it 😍 !! Now those “working parts” will be affordable for whoever will own it ! (
see video of my thread...“Inching towards the finish line.”) Thanks again Tancruiser for your integrity, and I accept your apology and now will always remember you for that instead.
