Did a search, but did not find anything...

Bought my wife a white 2008 200 on the last day of October and I just can't get used to the unfinished look of the front bumper without a tag.

What are you guys doing to cover or fill in the odd gap/holes in the front bumper if your state does not have front license plates?

The dealer tried to sell me an aftermarket POS cheap chrome tag frame for $$$. They did a search and said there was no filler or cover if a tag is not used.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yankees? Is that Baseball? We only know Hockey up here in Canada. Hockey, Maple Syrup and Rye (the drink, not the wheat.)

Yeah well the Islanders and Rangers are nothing to talk about these days.........

Guys, guys, guys...

We're in Mississippi! We barely know how to spell hockey!

Jackson actually had a team years ago, but selling tickets was a bit of a problem. There is still a team that plays at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Gulfport/Biloxi, MS. We do have the MS Braves baseball team (Atlanta farm team).

Back to the original question...

Any sources on simple tags that say LAND CRUISER? Just about anything is better than the gaps/holes/threaded inserts currently visible.

Thanks again and Happy New Year

I've seen plates with Land Cruiser written in script in chrome and gold. Check ebay.

Here's a TRD plate and frame:
eBay Motors: CHROME LICENSE PLATE+FRAME TOYOTA Land Cruiser RAV4 MR2 (item 370127606893 end time Jan-07-09 16:30:44 PST)

Personally I couldn't care less and left the dealership's plate on. It stays pretty dirty most of the time anyways :D

Without the plate molding it would look bad....

Found this pic while surfing e-bay for tags. No luck!

No affiliation to cheesy headlight tint seller!!!!!!!!

Notice the 2 square holes under the threaded inserts with an odd round indention between. This is what I want to cover up.

Totally off topic, and hijacking...I love the grill sans Toyota Logo. I wish I could get one of those, my luck though, it's probably a photoshop operation.

Totally didn't notice the grill emblem was gone!

The wife's 200 is white. It doesn't bother her at all, but it just isn't right to me. I'm pretty surprised that Toyota would leave the front bumper as it did, but then provide a nice cover for the receiver hitch in the rear bumper??? Somebody dropped the ball. Looks like a good opportunity for the aftermarket if they can match the colors well.

I left mine...haven't found anything worthy enough of covering it. The light bar does help distract from it though...

Man, that is a SUUUPER SWEEET light bar.

I may just breakdown this Spring/Summer and ask you for the detailed specs. That is, if you are willing to have a silver clone of yourself (sans ultra-cool wheels on yours) down in the NE USA. . . . .

He wont mind...he copied mine anyway :p

Clutchee is selling cool LC tags stamped in Brazil. See Link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/merchandise-storefront/162685-brazil-cruiser-plates.html

Someone told him the tag holes in the front bumper of a 200 were wider than the rear, so he asked me to measure and confirm.

Guess what?

Rear bumper: 7" center to center
Front bumper: 8.25" center to center

What the hell, Toyota???
What is supposed to fit? Did we get Japan or Euro spec bumpers by mistake???
My dealership will have a lot to explain tomorrow!

Have you guys measured the tag bolt spacing in your front bumpers??

JBHORNE, It looks like your front tag and frame fit fine. What is your measurement?

Hold the phone! I just checked again and there are little dimples with tiny holes just to the inside of the threaded inserts. The dimples measure 7" center to center. There are also another pair out much wider and lower that look like they are for Euro tags. What do the threaded inserts fit??

I'm not to sure of the actual measurement, but that is a standard license plate size and frame, so I'm guessing 7" standard.

Could the other holes be for a different plate (ausi, euro, jap, etc...)? I don't even know if mine has those as I've never removed the dealer plate.

Yep. 7" is a standard US plate

Other holes must be for other country plates. I'm still hoping the threaded holes are for a factory filler plate. A filler plate with LAND CRUISER embossed would be sweet.

In the mean time, I ordered a "LND CRSR" tag from Clutchee. See the link in post 18.
