Just bought a 5 speed out of a early Hj75 which I'm in the process of swapping into my 55. I pulled the shifter out a few days ago but noticed today that the little nylon bush that the very end of the shifter pops into wasn't in the gearbox. Is it the sort of part that'd fall out easily?? Am just hoping that it hasn't fallen down when I took the gear stick out.
Also wondering about the gear stick itself....does it come apart somehow?? Almost looks like it's 2 pieces...

Cheers,
Stump

the bush is a necessary piece, its probably unlikely its fallen inside the gearbox but its not hard to pop the selector cover off the top to see if its somehow ended up in there, I had to replace a worn bush once (started popping out of gear) it was pretty cheap from Toyota and nah the shifter doesn't separate down to two pieces unless you snap it in half :)

Cool, I'll get one ordered and will check inside in the meantime. The box was supposedly rebuilt so maybe they forgot to install it (which fills me with confidence)
