I have a Canadian market hj60 and I cannot engage 2wd with button select. I have swapped switches and solenoids with no success.

Looking at the wiring diagram, I see a transfer control relay which I never knew existed but cannot find it.

Does anyone know where this is, and what the part number is?

Behind the fuse box in the dashboard. More likely to be a vacuum or vacuum switching valve issue IMO.

I found the transfer control relay, and it tests fine. I tried another just for fun, and it didn't correct my issue.

So, the issue remains, 4wd button works as do both solenoids but yet cannot get vacuum to select 2wd.

I have tried the different 4wd buttons and two other solenoid units, which were tested.

I am stumped!

The transfer case switches it out of 4wd IF I apply vacuum to the other line to the tcase and the 4wd light switches off too.

Any thoughts???

the other line ?? just to make sure : there is 2 vaccum lines that goes in the actuator and both need to be plugged in order for it to work properly. I can go snap pics on my lunch break of the vacuum lines if that can be helpfull.... But if you only have one line connected , your issue is probably there.

All vacuum lines are connected as factory. Vacuum input and one to each solenoid.

Where I am now is the switch works and when in 4wd selection, I get power to black output from switch to transfer control relay. I do not get power through transfer control relay from black to black-red and therefore, no power to black-red input to transfer control solenoid bottom.

I have tested transfer control relay input plug and I have constant power in pins 3 and 4 and power in pins 1,2 when switch is in 2wd but no power when switch is in 4wd.

I have tested both solenoids and they work.

When I say "other line" this means I switched the two vacuum lines from the solenoids to the hard lines to tcase. This makes the switch to 2wd.
