I'm on my way to St Louis and my HJ60 just developed a sudden and impressive knock. I'm holed up at a motel in Springfield, IL to figure outnext steps.
After some roadside troubleshooting I think its in the bottom end (bearing), or possibly the clutch.
Anyhow, I could drop the pan or clutch inspection plate to diagnose but its beyond my ability to fix as it lies.
I think I need a tow to a reliable shop to determine if we can fix or if this motor's not worth it.
Our base is in California so we're a long way from home ...
Anybody local with any suggestions on a mechanic? I don't think I want to start it up lest it throw a rod, so I want to identify a good shop, talk to them, and tow it there.
