what cruiser_guy says is true. I had a friend that recently tried to drive a cruiser back from central america. to make the long story short, he had engine problems somewhere along the pacific coast of mexico and ended up having to abandon the LC!! This is no joke. Toyota parts are almost impossible to find in Mexico not to mention that mechanics there have no experience with them whatsoever.

I met a guy from Germany that had a 'Cruiser problem in Mexico. He ended up ordering parts from Germany and having them flown in! He also carried the OEM manual so the local shop could fix it.

My '67 FJ45LV won't be making the trip north until it has behaved itself for a year after the restoration is complete as I have NO intentions of abandoning it. My BJ60 is kept in top shape at all times so I am confident in it's ability to make the trip north and south.

I haven't seen too many LCs in Guate. The only area I have seen a large concentration of them is up north towards the Mexican border. Do you have photos you can post of your 1965 fj45?

Check out https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=76830 for pic's of my truck and it's progress to true roadworthyness!!

It's true, Guatemala doesn't have the same amount of older 'Cruisers that I see in Honduras but I know where the wreckers are that have 'Cruiser stuff but unfortunately NO FJ45's at all.
