I got them for occasional use as I'm not conquering Mt. Whitney or whatever.

Just need a decent Hiking boot for Camping/Trail Runs.

I've had Hi-Tec stuff before and liked it.

I looked everywhere and found a good deal for these boots:

Hi-Tec Men's V-Lite Mt. Nevis Ion WPi Waterproof Hiking Boot, 21032 | Hiking Boots | Men | SHOES & BOOTS | items from Campmor.

Here's the link straight from Hi-Tec's site:

Here's a review of them I found:

What's cool is they had my size (12) which a lot of places never have on sale.

Just thought I'd share.

glad they had your size, and hope they serve you well.

Hi-tec is an entry level brand, above which (slightly) is RedWing. My RW's served me well through many months of fighting fire, and they were what i returned to after my spendy custom fit White's tore me up.

I've been rocking the same slip-on station boots for nearly 5 years now: might actually replace them (w/same model, natch) once Oct comes round. Mud, snow, rain: the Blundstones have never let me down, and my feet don't ache at the end of the day, unlike our issued gear.

RedWings are nice. I use them at work. I have some loggers that have lasted a while.

I got these as entry-level boots. I know there are way better brands out there, but as I found out on our last Trail Run, sneakers just don't do well on loose dirt so I had to get something.
