High Pitched "Alarm" ?

I have an 07 fj, while driving there was suddenly a high pitch tone in the cabin. At the same time my BRAKE!, ABS, VSCoff, USCTRAC warning lights are all on. It is still drivable for as long as you can stand the tone...hmm, earplugs maybe ?

Was it fun? Those alarms/alerts go off when those system have been activated, evasive maneuvers at speed as an example.

If thats not the case, more likely one of your ABS sensors and/or system is not sending a signal to the ECU. I'd inspect each ABS sensor/wiring to make sure all are appearing normal, then check your codes to see what your getting and verify...

I've never had the alarm stay on, even when my ABS sensor was bad. For me the "christmas tree" lights came on but no alarm. The funny thing is for several error codes (0430 & 0420 for O2 sensors behind Catalytic Converter) all the lights will come on whether it directly impacts that system or not. I think Toyota did that to get your full attention.

Back on topic, Jerry's right, just take it to the dealer or your mechanic and see what codes they can pull from the OBD II port. It's very likely something to do with the ABS sensors/wiring at the wheels. You can visually inspect the wiring that snakes around the spindle and into the hub. Make sure they are intact. Checking the actual sensor inside the hub is not too hard either, if you remove the wheel. I believe it has two philips head screws holding it into position.

That's the drive faster tone with the windows down so it drowns out the noise. Bad Toyota, no mud.

Thanks guys, I needed to replace a wheel bearing anyway so I thought it would be that one. The alarm and xmas tree lights are still there so I am still looking. I may have to pony up the cash to have the codes read. I nearly had all my vehicles running at the same time, i should have known better.

Most Autozones around here will read the codes free, just drop in and ask them to bring out the OBD reader, right down the codes and post up what you've got...
