I'm trying to fit my control box and its driving me crazy.

I can't slip it on the top of the winch. I thought about trying to clock the motor (if possible) so the terminals aren't taking up additional height room. It looks like it wouldn't fit by fractions of an inch, and I don't know how to clock the winch motor (hoping to hear back from comeup maybe).

It won't fit alongside the airbox in its current state and I'm not sure about chopping up the control box.

My simplest solution so far is to get the 1.8 m control box relocation kit which should just be long enough:

Any ideas?

I mounted my comeup control box between the airbox and AHC fluid reservoir, the VICE universal relocation cable kit that includes a nice powder coated L bracket worked perfectly to hang control box from the inner fender.

Initially I clocked the winch motor to move the cable posts and used long hose clamps to secure control box directly to the winch, behind front bumper. Ran this setup for a couple of years. The box definitely showed signs of water intrusion and dust but was cleaner than I expected when I pulled it off to relocate under the hood.

Pick your poison I guess, exposure to the elements or heat of the engine bay.

Awesome, thanks for the details on both setups!

To clock the winch motor I assume you remove the two long bolts on the motor side and split it open where it meets the cage? Rtv the seam when replacing?

You know, I can’t remember exactly what I did to clock, sorry. That’s what the comeup instructions say, just those two bolts, but I think there was more to it when I did it in 2023.

I recently emailed comeup for help, trying to clock another winch on my LX450 but never heard back.

There is a rubber gasket so RTV maybe not necessary.
