You can use thos rubber clamps from cabelas, they are freaking tough and awesome

Quickfists are nice, but I'm not sure I would trust those to hold the weight of a hi lift in an accident - imagine how big that headache would be (or would you just be drooling out of the side of your mouth for the rest of your life in a wheelchair?)

while I used them on my 62 roof rack for years with no issues you have a point. I was thinking using them inside the runner (which is worse than me using them on my 62) being I already have some but I think I will give the exhaust clamps a try.
