So only one is eight show bulging? that’s no good,

Tried for a wile to get a good pic, all I have are fuzzy poorly lit pics of the close side portion where it is shorter there is much more as you head towards the drivers side. I am having a hard time trying to estimate scale from the mirror,

Which rear corner is the top picture's red arrow close to? Driver's or passenger's (USA)?

All three are passenger side rear corner, the protrusion is on the aft face. the bottom two are just too washed out to see the deatails. I need to try to back light it from the drivers side somehow.

On the top pic the little corner of something you can see at the bottom of the mirror around the corner of the head from the protrusion I think it is the exhaust gasket, the dark silhouette on the right is the exhaust shield, the thing angling across the left lower corner of the shot is the firewall. The snake looking thing with the bright spot on it is the kick down cable.

False Alarm

OK borrowed a Bore scope Today and had a look in the cylinder, could not really tell anything about the fire ring as in most places it was covered in chunky carbon and ash, although the carbon in most of the cylinder way not that bad that corner where the cylinder bore meets the heat seams to be a carbon collection area

But I did use it to look at my protruding gasket and I think I am OK for now, what looked like rolling hills in the mirror looking along its length is actually quite flat when you can look at it on end with a broescope. Since it is even protrusion I am going to say the gasket has not deformed that bad yet, since I have no other direct symptoms I will just keep an eye on it for now until I have better timing.

I do think I need to do the preemptive at some point but not now.

On the plus side the upper half of the #6 cylinder walls look pretty good, no scoring and at one point I think I saw cross hatching, some heavy buildup above where the rings travel though.

Sounds like par for the course, and no pressing need. Good news! I've often wondered if it would help restore clamping force back there to have people retorque the head if they have the valve cover off. After all, you're staring right at the head bolts at that point. During install, I installed my heads and let them sit overnight before a morning retorque. Could be superstition but it occurs to me that the gasket will compress from the initial torque, then I restored the torque/clamping pressure. I'm sure a one time torque is comprehended in the design of any HG install, but still...
