I heard a story about a guy who lost his outboard while on the river. My source said it looked like something off of a National Lampoon's movie. Any comments?

Dunno. Never saw the film.
I did lose my first outboard ever on its first real run. I'm pretty bummed about it. It was a good deal and a good fit for my boat. No chance of recovery now.
Guess this is how I learn to adapt from the desert to the swamps.

BTW, I'm looking for a roller fairlead with 11" between the mounting holes. Will trade a slightly smaller one or pay $$$.
