Hope this isn't a re-post but wanted to pass on a thumbs up for these great hammocks. I tried one in New Zealand this year and then found that they are made locally. (BC) Great tent, easy entry and exit and very comfortable - lots of lenghts for those of us too tall for conventional tents or rtt's. Maybe a bit pricey but not really when compared to decent quality tradional tents.

Just my .02 - no affiliation.

They pop up on E-bay fairly often. Hammocks are one of those things people love or hate.

i really looked into one of those when i was backpacking. The only problem that kept me from getting one is laying there on your back not really able to roll to your side. I can only imagine the pain your back would be in when you wake up. Maybe i'm wrong, but that is what i imagined.

Anyone with experience post up the sleeping comfort.

couldn't find my pic of my version with an army hammock with cheapo blue tarp, practically identical to some of henessy's set ups. the nylon hamock i got really cheap, it was just a tad narrow, but i'm sure you can get wider ones. set up was easy, 2 trees, one rope across above the hamock for the tarp, and peg the 4 corners down, done. setting the sleeping back in the hammock and getting on was tricky at first, but it got easier. once your in and bundled up tight like a burrito, you're good. something about hanging and that lulling sensation and being above ground, just makes it neat to sleep in. a mosquito net/hat over my head and i was pretty good. i can't justify the cost, cuz all you need is a wide enough hammock, lightweight tarp, rope, and a mosquito net, all for well under 50 bucks. but i still love the henessy ones, i can't believe they have so many versions!

yeah I agree with those comments, but it's really ideal for a back packer - and it may seem like it could be hard on the back but I found it just the opposite and I normally sleep on my stomach.. they really do have great details and yeah they're pricey but well thought out. Try one if you get a chance.

I have one of these.. not for BP but its great for car camping... its the bigger model that sleeps two.. I have slept in it and have had no back issues...

Ummm...couldn't a bear eat your ass in that thing?!...lolol

Some of fondest memories were of doing all the lawn work on a summer Sunday..finally getting done at 2 and ready for a nap. Down a couple of ice cold beers....slide into the hammock..slip into dream land;)....and 8 mins. later a screaming 4 year old from the car LAUNCHES from about 10 feet away onto me and we both end up on the ground. Yep..I miss that:lol:

I've had my hennessy since the Rubithon 2000. Love it. A comfy hammock sleep with no bugs :D

I have used the HH quite a bit as well as home made versions in all types of weather and it is a love hate deal. I tried them on a elk hunt as I just was tired of sleeping on the ground. It works well and gives you a comfortable place to set at the end of the day. Light also. It takes some getting use to and some tinkering with in colder weather but they will work and I sleep on my side very well. Lots of good bulletin boards on hammocks as well.
