Most definately will you get some famous Memphis BBq if you come up to Memphis. I dont let people visit without taking them to Corky's or the Rendevous.

Also thanks everyone for all the info and Pat for the parts offer that i most likely will be taking you up on. I now really know why everyone comes to these threads for advice on fixin stuff, becuase before this thread i wouldnt have known where to start. I now cant wait to get home to start on these beast and get her running again before January.

The 2f is not really prone to head gasket failure on a regular basis.

Was the failure due to an overheated condition of the motor? If so, the head may very well be cracked.

yes the truck did start to run hot and then to over heat right before this all happened.

What dates? I could be down for something but remember, I'm not in college anymore, so i don't get 4 weeks off in the holidays.
And gas mileage in a 3FE powered 80... oh the horror.

I think we will be working on it on the weekend of the 17-18 of DEC...it will be much fun and a great learning experience.
