HELP!!! wipers aren't workin

Hi Folks

I just got into the office after driving 30 minutes in wet snow....the wipers aren't working....I can hear the motor humming when i turn them on but they're not flicking at all. When I try to lift the wipers they automatically slide back down.

any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the cover under the hood on the fire wall and make sure the rod has not come off the wiper motor.

Yeah....i think it may be that...the motor still makes a whirring noise at every setting but they wipers don't move........i'm so stupid, i had the wipers on the night before and when i started the truck they kicked in with wet snow on the windshield Hopefully its an easy fix
