First I want to introduce myself, my name is Andres I live in South America in Ecuador, I have a 87 fj62 with a 3F engine, I often read on this forum but finally I decided to register english is not my first language so forgive me if I miss-write something.

Well I have a big problem with my car, when I accelerate it want`s to stall its kind of a dead spot, so I have to pump the gas to keep it running, then I push the gas a bit more and reaches about 2000 rpm and without taking out the gas the rpms go down to about 1000 rpm then stabilizes and rises again to about 2000k and the cycle goes again and again I release the gas and idles just rigth. I cleaned the carb very carefully also change spark plugs, wires, points and condenser. I just clean the distributor, I use the service manual for it. I have read a lot but no sign of this problem at all. It was running just right
I also think the carburetor is from a 2F
Please anyone of the gurus on this forum help me ;)

I'm not a carburetor wizard, but it sounds like your carb has a plugged jet.

You have a 3F carburetor. We did not get those in the USA.

Those bolt heads are sure damaged.

thank you for the response, yes I took that pic yesterday I change all the bolts the were really worn, do you have any Idea what jet could be? because I completely took it apart and cleaned up very carefully.

Check on the ICS (idle control solenoid)?
And be real careful with the screw heads, output shaft is right, those are damaged. Look for a screwdriver made to fit these without stripping them. JIS (japan industrial standard).
Use a never seize type of product on the screw threads.
Welcome to the madness that is land cruisers!

Oh thank you for the welcome yeah this cars really rock !!!
I check the ICS it works perfect also I have no problems at idle.
This really is giving me a headache :(

the fuel filter is brand new, and I have constant fuel flow and the float level is set right.

Sounds very similar to issues I was having, but keep in mind I have an FJ60 with the 2F - I'm not familiar with FJ62's or any differences between nations.

With mine it ended up being the Fuel Cut Solenoid, which is grounded through the emissions computer and actuated by a vacuum switch. I had removed the switch because it was located on the inner driver's fender well and I mistakenly thought it was smog equipment so I threw it away. End result was the emissions computer was activating the fuel cutoff solenoid on my carb anytime I hit 2000-2500rpm, which caused it to stumble and lurch and drive like poop. If I held the gas at 2500 rpm I could watch and listen to the RPM's bounce between 1000-2500. There is a super easy modification to snip one of the wires on the fuel cut solenoid and ground it to the carb body with a simple ring connector. There are a few threads here on exactly how to do it....but like I said that was on my 2F so investigate and diagnose accordingly.

Just for gee whiz it looks like a few screws on your top plate are loose and partially backed out, I imagine that could contribute to a vacuum leak possibly. And I'm wondering about the port on your intake manifold above where the EGR would normally attach. If that's open, that would contribute to a leak as well and not help anything. I had a three way port there on my 2F which I capped off using plugs.

Don't know if that helps or makes it more confusing but,

thank you, the ports on the manifold are blocked inside. I check for vacuum leaks but everything looks right the solenoid is as you said grounded to the carb body, this version has no computer onboard, but I will check again for any electrical problem just in case
But sincerely I`m still lost on this problem.

I'm only guessing the photo was a before rebuild shot...there is a screw darn near out in the picture

Another trick,
While the engine is running, (use the choke if needed) place a gloved hand or piece of cardboard over the carb throat and starve it of air, shutting down the engine. Called an 'okie' rebuild, this may help to dislodge or pull through any crud that is blocking fuel and air passages inside...

if the engine does not die while you're choking it out as Micruz suggests, then you have an intake leak as well- the engine should die from closing off its air supply...you'll start it and choke it off 3 or maybe 4 times if it's going to pull the crud thru the passage. best done on a cold engine with high idle set. backfire is a real possibility so use the glove and I use a piece of cardbord as well with a hole for the stud...

thank you guys, I just did what Micruz suggested, I use a piece of cardboard to cover the intake, and the engine stalled, did that few times but the problem still there.
any other idea?

Well, I got an update, I decided to take the distributor out and I discover the advance weights where not opening right I did the repairs there and put it back together as the manual says, restarted the engine en the problem is a lot better but there still a annoying dead spot when accelerating specially when driving uphill.
Any Ideas?

mine didn't and I could smoke the meats...check for vacuum leaks, adjust the valves, do a compression check, rebuild the carb. If you have an EGR, I'd say that was your huckleberry, but I dont see one- dont think you have one..the vac advance not working didn't cause stumbling or poopy running at midrange, just less advanced advance. and regardless, I can run my vacuum advanceless 2F up thru 4 grand and it doesn't stumble anywhere(no smog).
