Hi All.

I am a new Mud member from the Milwaukee area. I have a 91 FJ80. Stock right now.

The pressing issue is I need to have some work done on the front axles. Birfields.

Anyone have a trust worthy shop in the area that knows how to do these right, w/out spending a fortune?

Also how do I find out about joining a local club.

I'm addicted..that's the first step. Right?

Thanks.

JP

you've found the "local" cruiserheads - we all hang here...lol

IMO, with a few tools, the project isn't difficult....check the 80-corner for the how to list. One side will take a full day, the other side just a few hours....and eventually, an hour per side ;)

Milwaukee mechanic

So how did it go with you and your mech. doing the Birfs?
I could really use a good mechanic myself. Had a shop that I could use the rack and tools anytime I wanted, so I didn't really need anyone else. That guy went out of business, so now I am unable to do much of my own work, other than the basics I can do in the driveway. On the far NW side of town here.
Anyone got a hint for a good mechanic in the area?? Willing to go to FonDuLac if I have to.
Will be welding up my Y pipe someday soon here as I found where the leak was whilst changing the oil this week.

We can do what ever is needed on a cruiser. Birfs, exhaust, PHH, head gaskets, whatever.

4LLC works at hesser toyota in Janesville, and is a PRO on cruisers. I would take all my cruiser stuff to him, and request him. He has a really nice 80 series.

I talked with him a bit, and he is definately a cruiserhead.:)
