Hi guys,
Am not sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum or not as I didn't see a generic GA forum...but here goes.

Am new to this forum but have been around the automotive world for a while now. Recently picked up a Lexus LX470 and am going through it trying to "base line" it as you guys say it here. I am getting ready to flush the AHC fluid and have read that I need to check/adjust the pressure via techstream. Does anyone have this locally? I'm in Alpharetta and seeing if anyone can help me out...need to have the car ready for family trip down to Orlando at the end of the month.

Thanks,
Fred

Take it to ACC. They are a very reputable shop, Or Tom Craig automotive much closer to you!

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll have to look them up...I do see ACC as a vendor on this forum and looks like they are an awesome shop.

Tom Craig is a stand up guy, his shop is full of well off, mall crawling lady Lexus drivers!

thanks, will try to contact him and schedule some time...he's much closer to me than ACC.

I have used his shop for my last four Cruisers, my 200 series is currently there. I live in east cobb and he is honest, my 1999 LX470 needs new O2 sensors so it will be there next.

What year is your 470?
I have had mine for about two months and flushed the AHC system last weekend. It will ride a lot better.

You are going to love your 100 series!

good to know he's a trust worthy shop! always hesitant using unknown shops with a new brand of vehicle so it's nice to see that people have had good things to say about them.

mine is a 2005 with 143k miles on it. did not notice much of an improvement in the ride after AHC flush though...but it didn't seem like i had too much air in the system. already loving it...so comfortable and built like a tank. need to fix little things on it like the speaker covers since some are ripped. also need to figure out how to fix the lever (or the little connecting rod) for the 3rd row seating. dealer of course did not disclose it was an issue and had the 3rd rows stowed away in the warehouse but one is missing the rod altogether (attaches to lever which allows seats to be folded up vertically and out of the way), the other rod is bent and finicky.

I have not checked the pressure on my AHC system, I will be interested in what Tom does.

My dad has a 1998 Lx470 with 200k, brother has a 2004 Lx470 with 200k, mine is a 1999 with just over 100k. These trucks will last forever.

Have you done the heater T's yet? This is very important!

called and talked to the guys at Craigs (didn't catch his name) and it was nice that he took the time to explain to me some things.

in terms of the AHC pressure, he told me there is nothing in techstream that needs to be changed for the pressure. told me to check fluid level when set to High and that it should be at the Min mark on the tank, when on Normai should be in the middle, and when on Low should be at or slightly above the Max mark.

Also asked about my steering (with VGRS) since my steering wheel is off a little but car tracks straight. Told me there is also no setting in techstream to change that unless the yaw sensor is off. he said it was all in the alignment...so will be doing this shortly and hoping it fixes my off center steering wheel.

oh, and I did change out the heater T's...that was the first thing I did myself. one did break slightly but the other remained in tact. better safe than sorry from what i read about this.

so i went ahead and bought the cable for use with techstream. not sure what to think about the guys at tom craig's and the advice i received but i was able to center my steering wheel by doing the vgrs calibration.

That is cool, my LX470 is a little old r than yours and does not have that option, just FYI if you still need the 3rd row seats there are some for sale on Craig's list for $75.00 in Marietta.
