Just saw on Global BC that they need people to volunteer with deliveries in the Vancouver area. Their current volunteers are not able to make it through the snow. Sould like a good volunteer activity for our membership. The contact info is posted on Global BC. I will check out the need here in the Abby/Mission/Chilliwack area. Anyone else in the valley interested in helping out if there is a need? I will check tomorrow and post the info up for the valley.

Okay, here's some info to make things a bit easier for those who want to help out. To volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the GVRD, call (604) 733-9177 ext. 107. For the Vancouver Food Bank, please send an email to volunteer@foodbank.bc.ca or call Martice at 604.876.0659 ext. 102. I will post up info for Abbotsford/Mission later this morning after they open and I get a chance to call them. Others can call their local Meals on Wheels program and Food Bank to see if they need help. Google is your friend.

Just called around, the valley seems to be okay with getting food out.

Got a call this morning at 7:00 AM to do deliveries at 10:00 AM. Some places the snow was quite deep - over the bumper. I have left my name down for any snow day - I have flex time I can use during the work week if I am not on the road. Another person showed up from BC4x4. Good to see the wheelers out there. Most Meals on Wheels are shut down until the 29th. However, if the weather is messy, I know they do appreciate having people they can call on with 4x4s. So, phone and leave a number they can call. If you can't help when they call, that's no problem.
