Hi gang. I’m about to begin a project that I’ve been gathering components for sometime. I’m going to finally wire up my dual batteries with a redarc bcdc and sb1 to allow charging when necessary and also connect my cascadia solar and some aux lights. Eventually I’d like a frieze in the back and a winch in the front.
Redarc was really helpful and sent a diagram but my components are organized in the vehicle in a different layout. My aux battery and solar are on passenger side, bcdc in front to right of aux battery facing engine sb1 can go anywhere I guess but was going to put it close to start battery on driver side and a aux fuse box with blue sea 100amp up near the brake booster on driver side. I only have my Baja sae driving lights and my under hood led connected to start battery at moment. May connect the led to aux or just leave it. My understanding is that drive lights and winch should be connected to start battery and everything else to aux but it gets confusing real quick. Currently besides finally connecting the above components I am installing ditch lights and rear extrernal hatch lights. Can someone with more experience take a look at this and advise which wiring gauge and fusing would work on my layout? I’ve looked at the redarc diagram 100 times and get confused.
Two other considerations
1) I think while I’m doing this I’m going to run 4 gauge wire to the back for future use, what length would be best?
2) I’m also searching a weird ground issue wherein when I push the brakes with the power off my dash lights come on, thoughts on where to look?
Appreciate any input I’m just waiting on switches and then will buy the cables. I just want to do it right once and not have an electrical fire
1st image redarc. 2nd image is how mine is laid out. Gauge wire and fusing would be super helpful
