Okay dumb question here. If I have a preapproved loan from my credit union to go car shopping with (1.5% @ 48months, up to $30,000, on any vehicle 10 years old or newer) can I use this in a private sale (ebay/craigslist)? What do you have to do exactly, I have all the paperwork and the dealer would just fill in the blanks, so I assume the private seller would just do the same.

Thats not my field of expertise. You can probably call the place that preapproved you and ask them direct.
I recently used my credit union to purchase my '99 LC (private party). Got pre-approved as well, gave credit union the VIN for a free car fax (nice for piece of mind!) and told them how much to make the check for, including the seller's name. Gave check to seller and had them sign the title and sign a DMV Bill of Sale. Drove LC back to credit union and handed over signed title and bill of sale... They filled out the DMV title forms and submitted everything. Done.

Did you choose yet? I'd skip the newer one and go with the '01. Nav is unnecessary and 18in wheels suck
