Been lurking for years. Finally in position to purchase a 100 in next day or two. I’m super confused on the whole radio/nav situation. As in I just simply want to have a radio that can play my iPhone music and not have wires running all over the place without spending a fortune. Can someone tell if that is possible on this 02 LX470? I have a pic of the radio/climate/nav cluster. Thanks!

Maybe a better question is this: What are my options? Obviously would like the screen to not look like it currently looks and function normally. I understand the climate control is tied into it, but it seems like some 100's simply replace their unit and everything is fine and then some have Telsa giant screens that I'm not interested in. Just would like a clean looking dash area that plays my music from phone and controls the climate etc.

Thanks for replying. What does that look like in your 100? You have a pic? I take it that you didn't remove anything, just set that up?

I'll have to snap a pic later, but I slapped it right on the dash front and center, looks great IMO...at night in the dark the screen looks like its just floating up there, I ran the one USB power cable down the driver side trim up under the trim and into the center console power source...all in all I'd say its 10/10 bang for the buck!

Installing a GROM-BT3 was a 3-beer afternoon project. Being able to get Bluetooth and handsfree calling was a game-changer. The only wires are for the add-on AUX cable I included so other people could connect to the stereo. They are also super helpful on their site if you have questions.

I'm pretty sure I have a 2nd one that I ordered by mistake if you wanted it.

That is awesome! This LX I’m looking at needs a front diff rebuild, so I’m debating taking on that and this radio/nav thing. I just got finished restoring an Excursion, so I’m not that excited about jumping riggt back in the garage.

you could probably hide the wire a bit better than I did, but it really doesn't bother me at all, like I said I'm really enjoying it, my kids think its cool too
