Okay here's the back story I have a 77 FJ40 which is actually an Oct 76 mfg date. I've been trying to locate a heater box shell to replace my damaged one. So far I have strikes. There seems to be no end to the minute variations of the lower door mech. I would really like to get to the simpler version my rig was equipped with. Can anyone narrow my focus on what year I need from these pics?:
1st: My original and the door operating arm.
2nd: Probably pre 76, a whole box I picked up thinking the shell would work. Not! The pivot points are not the same.
3rd: Maybe 78 or newer, another shell I picked up thinking it was really close to my version. Closer, but no cigar. Same louvers, different lower door and pivot point.
