It's not as week as the F or 2F in my 87 FJ60!

The Pin 7 mod is this: when done it allows you to have manual control only of locking the center differential when shifting into Low Range. You can still do the PIN 7, it won't hurt anything, but remember that your truck will not automatically lock the c-diff when you shift in low, you have to do it manually from now on. Here in Iowa you will not see much benefit from this 'mod'. If you were doing a lot of wheeling on high traction surfaces like sandstone or something similar I'd recommend it. Also will help if you do some towing...

If you will only be buying 4 tires, you need to stick with the 31" tires. Mounting a 31" tire (after you get a flat) on a otherwise 33" equiped rig will cause issues.

So what about the Steel Wheels. I found some for $40-50. That I MIGHT beable to do. But I don't want to put something that's crap on truck. They are hella cheaper than other wheels. Then I might beable to get some 33x16's. Also would those 285/75R16's fit on 7" wheels? Or would I Have to goto >7". Well I guess we'll see. Thanks again Doc

The 285/75-16's on my 1987 FJ60 are on 16x7... they work fine.

Steel wheels might actually be LIGHTER than the aluminum counterpart, because the aluminum is so over-built. So don't worry about them effecting performance. These tires (destinations) are HEAVY- they'll be the thing to worry about.

lmao...Cool. Yeah I didn't actually think about the aluminums needing to be over-built. That's cool though makes getting new/bigger rims easier. Yeah they look heavy, but man do they look nice. Revo's just remind a bit too much of a passenger car tire. I want a Tire that Looks like a Truck tire. I figured it'd hurt gas alittle. Guess I should get a tune up before I get them on.

Yeah that is a good idea. But if your looking for a good tire get the BFGoodrich Mud Terrains they are amazing. People say they hurt your gas mileage a lot and are noisy but i disagree with both. Good luck!

Toyota factory steel wheels for the FZJ80 weigh almost twice as much as the aluminum wheels. The weight is a factor, especially if the vehicle already suffers from a marginal power to weight ratio.

^ I wonder how the rock crawler wheels compare to the toyota factory steelies, do you know?

I have factory Alloy rims/wheels now. Sooo...I don't know. But Man Nice Black Tough looking wheels for about $50...sounds good to me. Thanks guys for input.
