Ok so I’m trying to buy a replacement lens for my gauge cluster. Ever since I bought the car in 2016 it has a hairline crack in the plastic lens.

I have an 07 LX470

This is the correct Lexus P/N: 83852-6D660
Lexus price: around $90+shipping and tax

Now am I wrong to think the 03-07 Toyota Land Cruiser should have the same exact gauge cluster lens? They all look the same. I bet the Toyota part costs way less than $90.

For reference I looked it up for my 94 80-Series and it’s like $34.

Can anyone chime in?

I'd compare part numbers and see if it is the same one. If not then I would cough up. People like to buy the 99-02 lens part number for the 3rd gen 4Runner to install in their 96-98 because it is $20 cheaper. They quickly find out the hole for the tripmeter reset button is slightly off, causing it to bind. If you're okay with risking that sort of issue to save what is in the grander scheme chump change, give it a shot.

Yeah it’s weird.

Overseas this same part number comes up as a regular Toyota part number. Around $40-45

Search thst same part number at a US dealer and nothing comes up.

I definitely want the correct part number but I also know Lexus dealers often sell the same part for 2-3X the money. No sense in overpaying for the same exact parts.

Well crap…

I did some more digging around. Plugged in a VIN# off a 2007 Land Cruiser in Partsouq and it looks like the LX470 and TLC100 speedometer glass is indeed a different part number….and as I suspected the Toyota part is 3X cheaper. The Toyota instrument cluster looks different than the Lexus one too upon further inspection.

Pull up both part numbers on Partsouq… they show photos of the part in question.

Looks like one of them is tinted and the other part is clear.
