I'm down in Baja Sur right now with less than reliable wifi, so apologies if this has been covered before, but combing through search results isn't really working.

Anyway, a couple weeks I got a CEL with P1315, P1325, and P1330 codes, all igniter circuit malfunctions on various cylinders. Searching the forums pointed to a coil pack issue, but seemed strange for 3 to go at once. And the CEL came on immediately after braking hard for an unmarked speedbump, which was still a little jarring. Engine seemed to be running fine, and by the time I started it up the next day, lights were off.

Took it to a mechanic in Loreto (the CEL came and went a couple times over a couple days as we made our way there) and he said the throttle body was dirty (which he cleaned) and that all plugs were firing ok, but 2 were wet. He cleaned everything up, put a new air filter in, maybe replaced those 2 plugs, and cleared the codes, which came back on within 20 mins of driving away (1330 was replaced by 1300 this time). Tried to take it back, but he said he didn't have time to work on it.

So, I ended up buying 3 coil packs and plugs from the local auto parts store (only coil packs they could get are made by 'tecnofuel') and swapped them out. Got the same 3 codes after half an hour of driving, cleared them, and drove another 4 hours before they came back on again. After a few days of sitting at a campsite, no codes this morning, then got all 4 (1330 is back) after an hour on the road

Any thoughts on what it could be? The CEL seems to come on randomly, and will flash occasionally on rougher roads. It seems to be running fine though, and it's proving to be difficult to find OEM parts down here, or mechanics familiar with Land Cruisers. Hoping to get this figured out ASAP, as we're en route to Panama and hoping to avoid any serious issues that could leave us stranded.

All the codes are timing related so I suspect its the cam or crank sensor failing?

A cam or crank sensor problem would throw a different code, no?
Still running fine today, no codes yet. Just put the 3 OEM coil packs back in, but rotated them around to see if I get codes for the same cylinders or if they follow the coil packs. Also checked all coil pack connectors, and all pins look fine. Checked resistance between each ground pin and the block, all were less than 1ohm, and checked power between positive and ground pins on each connector, all were 12v. Not sure how exactly to check IGF and IGT wires to the ECU. And since it's so intermittent, is there anywhere else I should be looking for loose connections or grounds?

quick update on this - after putting the 3 oem coil packs back in (swapped in different spots with others that weren't throwing codes), I'm still getting the same 3 codes (1300, 1315, 1325). But still no misfire codes, or any noticeable indication that the engine isn't running right. Any ideas as to other things I should be checking? Any concerns with driving it like this, or is it gonna cause more problems?

I'm having a similar problem with my 2000 Land Cruiser. I will revive this old thread with my input, since I have such a very similar problem.
I recently did a routine check of my spark plugs after 30k miles to make sure they were torqued and not loose. After I was done I began to get CEL, VSC Trac VSC OFF lighting up. I've attached a short video clip below that intelligently explains the C1201 code and how it relates to those dash lights I just mentioned. (moral of the story, ignore C1201 for now, and check the other codes)

Accompanied by the C1201 code for my Land Cruiser were the following codes listed below, and I will explain each according to the 2000 Toyota LC100 FSM Engine Diagnostics Section:
P1330 No. 7 ignition coil with open or short in either IGF1 or IGT7 (coil)
P1325 No. 6 ignition coil with open or short in either IGF1 or IGT6 (coil)
P1300 No. 1 ignition coil with open or short in either IGF1 or IGT1 (coil)
This would lead me to investigate IGF1, since I am sure I did not have 3 newer coils fail me at once. I likely have an open short in IGF1.

Hope this helps someone in 2025. Also, this pic below that shows where you coils are located by number will be helpful.

The field service manual actually says the problem is more of the time gonna be at the plug itself so I went back and checked my plugs and re-plugged them and haven’t had any check engine light for about 50 miles now going to keep monitoring though..

Did new plugs definitively resolve this issue for you? I have the exact same 3 codes on the IGF1 circuit. I’ve swapped coils around and replaced the coil connectors on the harness but the codes persist…Tested resistance, ect. between the connector at ECU and each coil connector and all checked out fine…
