I have a low milage 79 pig from australia that is in very good shape. I want to convert it to left hand drive and need to know if i can use parts from 76 pig that i have found locally. will all the parts convert for the steering? The parts rig will already pay itself with the lift I need off of it. also will the front corner panels convert. any you fellas done this before? I'm not much of a mechanic and will have to find someone that has time to do the job. any suggestions would be apreciated. thanks

Bird,

I did a quick search and came across Root Moose's "RHD to LHD Conversion" post which is on a 60. Seems like the firewall is the biggest hurdle and that its expensive. Some simply replied why change it.

You should hear some sound advice from our resident "Pigsperts" shortly.

your looking at dash work, wiring harness work, heater work, steering work, etc. It would be alot to pay someone to do.

With the donor '76, you should have "most" of the parts needed, but I imagine wiring harness changes will make wiring a pain.

the 76 steering parts should be a swap, although I dont think the chassis is going to be tapped for the steering box mount on the LH frame rail...

All in all, a big undertaking. No where near a few day project...
