Help!!! AC part needed!!

Allright, now that i have your attention....

I noticed about 4 months ago that my FJ70's AC wasn't as great as my friends who has a 73 so i figured i'd look into it... turns out the "evaporator" (or at least thats what they told me it was called) is broken so all the air does not get directed to the ducts but just flies out on the passenger's feet! Ive been looking all over for the parts with no success because the 3F evaporator is different than the Fzj7X. Anyone have any idea where i can get this part... its been a pain in the when it rains because i have no way to defrost my windows!!!!

Thought i'd give it a shot here before i go out and pay the stealership 800+ USD for the darn part...thanks!

That is about right for an evap unit.

If your case is just damaged, can't imagine how you did that, you might be able to pull it out and repair with some thermo formable plastic and glue. But it will look like crap, however only the lower rear portion is visible installed.

The evaporator in 73 should work, just the lines from the core are shorter...try again..use a 1990 70 series evaporator

Japan4x4, i really dont know how it happened... i bought my car maybe 3 years ago and had always had that problem. As far as i can tell, it has been because the passenger maybe kicks up or something... NO CLUE. Seems like a pretty darn steep price for the plastic box...i think i'll keep trying to find it for less $$$

Spallet, ive seen a couple of them and they have the brackets on some other sides... maybe its just the ones ive seen. They are specifically for the different engine which is more popular there the FZJ7X series... 3f's are characteristically harder to come by... but ill keep trying, i really dont want to spend that kind of cash on such a dumb plastic part!

Does anyone know if the 80 series 3F evaporator is different?! maybe that could be the way to go...

Albertom ,you should be able to use an evaporator from any 1984-1990 7* series.
