Hi, all I' started out here a couple of months ago just reading post's. Well I finally got my New(to me) 80 a 1995. It's white, bone stock and with what i paid for it I knew I would have some work ahead of me .
Anyway I come to find out that I have a bent front right side lower control arm(radius arm). Which I missed during my inspection, hard to see since I was not looking for it. Anyway so that will need to be replaced $$.
But my main question is how do I check or how do I make sure my pitman arm is clocked right or how do I go about clocking it. I ask since I know PO had it replaced along with the box. Problem is the vehicle doesn't make sharp left turns but does to the right. I can turn the wheel two full turns clockwise but only about 1.25 counterclockwise. I'm sure it's not hittnig the stops when I turn left but I will have to look and see. Any idea's wisdom etc.. Thanks in advance

That's the first time I've heard of a bent front radius arm... If it wasn't wheeled (dropped the full weight of the truck on it), you should get the frame checked. An alignment would also be a good idea.

There are enough members upgrading to Slee's arms, that you *may* be able to locate a used OEM one. Check the For Sale section or post up in the WTB section.

If you put your location in your profile, we'd have a better idea where you are...

Oh, and WELCOME :flipoff2:

An alignment was attempted after the numbers were pulled the mechanic was drawn to the right side of the vehicle, and we quickly saw the bent arm, I dont remeber if it was camber or caster but it was a full degree off( - )from the left side left I believe was 2.8 and right was 1.7.
Any way I've checked the for sale board and sent a couple of PM's out . If any one see's this post I do need a control arm for my 95 prefer with bushings in. I don't want top deal with that mess, getting the others in and out.

I have some, but shipping would kill the deal. With a little effort you can probably find one locally, cruise down the forums list to Rising Sun's forum (an active Colorado club) or give Slee a call?
