Hello guys,
I'm very happy to join you all in the IH8MUD community !
I allow myself to introduce myself and my 80 series I just bought as my first car !
It's a FJ80 from 1991 and in good shape so far ( I reckon ). It has 260000km already and ready to take more.
My plan is to learn mechanics on it, step by step, as my mechanic knowledge is nearly zero.
I plan to:
-> buy tools ( don't have any except a screwdriver )
-> change the right mirror ( it has been sealed with silicone by the last owner so it's not moving).
-> get a full inspection to know what would be my next things to change/fix
-> learn to change fluids
-> learn and change oil filter and air filter
-> perhaps learn to "clean" pipes so the motor stays in good shape and works smoothly
-> install a back camera so I don't squish anyone while moving backwards
-> install a UHF antenna
Perhaps some others things are higher priority and should be cared of first but I admit that I have no clue. My only source of knowledge is YT and IH8MUD.
I'm super happy with that car I can't wait to roam the conservation parks with it !
