Hella light upgrade

I am dipping my toes into upgrading my truck. I just bought a FJ62 with a 5.3L Vortec and love it. But the lights leave something to be desired. After all my reviewing of the threads, I think that I will upgrade the harness with slcfj62's kit. But what reflectors to use? The Bosch/Cibie are going to be ~$400, while I can get Hella's with lamps for ~$300.

Anyone have experience with the Hella's and can compare them to the others?

I have two sets of Hella large rectangulars in my 2 Mini trucks. Compared to even my 20 year old mid-price JCW 7" round H4's they are not as good. Compared to anything sealed beam that I've ever driven behind they are significantly better. I suspect that it is more the shape of the reflector handicapping the lens designers than a brand issue.

The relay upgrade is a good call.

I'd go cheap on the inners (highs) and spendy on the outers (high/lows). It's with the low beam that the quality is most apparent. You could even do the outers and leave the inners sealed beam for the time being.
