Heavy lift, tires...DONE!

Looks great...I am in the same spot, finally have some money for mods and want to go lift and tires but I don't have any armor. For me it is rough paying the same price for the Med vs. the Heavy. I think I will go with the heavy in anticipation for future mods.

Looks good! Did you polish the rims? I've only seen painted rims on a LX.

The tyres have nothing to do with caster.

Seems strange, but I had no weird handling characteristics with the lift and stock tires. I was surprised that the extra inch or so of lift I got from the 285's put my caster "over the edge" and the truck started driving a little squirrelly.

I don't know, maybe it's more of a mud terrain tread kind of issue. It still drives like a cadillac compared to my Scouts.

That was my reasoning, along with the fact that my job frequently requires me to haul a few hundred pounds of soil samples over rough terrain.

My opinion is that the ride, unladen with heavies, is not that bad at all.

To continue my post padding.......

These rims came chromed (they're just dirty, that's why they look polished) with the vehicle. Can you say BLING! That, along with the gold package, was almost too much for me to handle. The spare was.....spared the chrome treatment and much more to my liking.

I was going to give you some :censor: about the post count building technique. But since you brought it up. :flipoff2:

You should talk to Smitty, he took all of his gold trim off and prepped and painted it black. I was a little skeptical at first but he used to paint golf clubs where he worked so he is skilled at prepping to paint on shiny smooth surfaces. I haven't talked to him about it since he got them done though.

I agree with you on the gold. I have even considered redoing my chrome emblems black. I am the anti bling. :D

I was expecting to hear some :censor: from you, Mo.

I thought about that, too, but instead of black, I'd paint it charcoal gray to match the flares and body cladding. I also plan on painting my Con-Ferr roof rack (presently on one of the Scouts) charcoal gray.

The only problem I see in this plan is that the :princess: likes shiny things, ie. gold emblems. Might have to compromise, like live with bling in order to get some armour.

P.S. Mo, you have a PM.
