Heater core inlet/oulet pipes question.

I appreciate the disappointing news.

Tell me about it. I nabbed one of the last remaining OEM cores, but only one of the two pipes were available for my '97. Would be a fuqn nightmare to have to replace so not sure why I even bothered to stash the parts in the first place.

What's best practice to make the hvac unit last as long as possible?

I'm not sure how to make it last longer, but I did find out the copper ones can be rebuilt.
