So what extra goodies are they charging for?

That's base price, no options. Most, if not all, have the upgrade pkg. which is where the $7x,xxx comes from.

Got it. Have you ever seen one without the $7K option package????
When I was shopping a couple months ago I came across a few of them. I would say that 1 out of 4 or 4 don't have it, at least based upon my shopping observations.

In fact, just did a quick search on autotrader and of the 5 listed, only one obviously doesn't have it (not sure about 2 of them because there is not price listed). In fact, the one that doesn't have it has been for sale since I was shopping back in September and October of last year.

Because the option package is way more than just nav, it's really not even an "option" in my opinion.

  • Navigation System
  • rear-seat DVD entertainment system with 9-inch display and two wireless headphones
  • color-keyed rear spoiler
  • rain-sensing variable intermittent windshield wipers
  • center-console cooler box
  • headlamp washers
  • leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood-grain-style trim inserts
  • integrated audio, Multi-function Display, voice-activated navigation and Bluetooth controls
  • leather-wrapped shift lever with wood-grain-style insert
  • driver and front passenger active seatbelt pretensioning system
  • second-row multi-stage seat heaters
The rain-sensing wipers were not available for 2008 models.

The pretensioning system IMHO is a necessity on today's vehicles and I think this alone would justify the added cost. Safety first, right?
