Just curious, is anybody making an aftermarket headliner? I see ones for a 40 but not for a 55.

I bought one and am having it installed this weekend. Will post a pick.

What a great feeling when you have the rubber, glass and the headliner back in!!!!
HL2.webp

Cruiser Corps is where I got mine about $100 and for a $20 fee they will do any other color you want . I got black it fit great

Gonzoid,
How hard was that to do? Would I have to pull my windows to do it or just peel back the rubber ( not sure how that would work but had to ask).

The proper way is to pull the windows and windsheild. I am going to try to pull back the rubber and shove 1/4" of the headliner down under the rubber.

SOR headliner

Couldn't be happier with my SOR headliner. Had it installed professionally with glass removed and fresh windshield and cargo rubber. Sorry, no pics.

For what its worth i have a brand new, sealed, head liner from SOR in the box i am not using.

Wanna sell it? I'll buy it from you if you are willing. What color? I would guess that Land cruiser kid gets first dibs since he started the thread...

Sure. It's white (or whatever the stock color white is:). I'll let you guys figure it out and get a picture of it tomorrow.

Sal, yes the proper way is to pull the glass however if you pull the rubber back on the inside and put a 1/2 rope to hold the rubber flat you can tuck the headliner around the rubber

Do a search under headliner in this forum---you'll find lots of great info---Battle started a great thread on tips for installing---also check out advice from Carm Montana since he has good advice from his experience working with glass. My thread My Name is Dave.....shows my experience which went well but I always defer to others since their work turns out pretty damn nice---good luck!

Gonzo55, I don't quite follow your description of the headliner procedure. Are you using the rope to hold the rubber away from the frame so that the headliner can be tucked behind it? I gotsta know how it's done.

The proper way to do it as I did is to remove the windows so that you wrap the liner around the body's window lip However if you can't remove the windows and want to get the liner in you can use rope to hold the rubber out the way then fold it and let the rope loose to trap the headliner. Not the best way by any means but gets it done

I'm not sure what jdog wants for it, If you want it, thats ok, if you don't, jdog please PM me. Sal, my 55 is not road ready yet, I'm gathering parts I need for when I start restoring it, so if you could use it now go for it, if not I'd be interested in it.
