headliner and fire

So I'm gonna start doing repairs on my roof soon and I'm wondering if I absolutely need to take out my headliner. I'd like to leave it in place as it is in great condition albeit a little dirty. My question is will it catch on fire when I'm welding on new panels? Pics to follow.

some little spark will find its way to the padding/ sound deadening crap. it smells really bad when it burns...
