headlights on no brakelights

on my 85 4runner i have no brakelights with the headlights on. without headlights they work fine... any ideas?

the brake light is on a separate circuit.
the headlights are connected to the MF switch. and also are a seperate circuit from the parking lights.

the headlights have a red wire, the brake is green.

make sure the switches both have good connections. look to see if the wires anywhere are in an area likley to get chaffed.

measure voltage drop and remove fuses in other circuits to narrow it down.

try using a donor MF switch.

look at the relays for the head lights, ans find donor ones for those too. one for high one for low.
