It's made out of rectangular tubing where the factory was channel. It is the exact same dimensions but a little heavier duty. Most people would never know the difference between the two.

stock head-ache racks used heavily don't hold up that well... at least a couple that I have seen, not that it would be an issue on a resto. Some expanded metal under the bottom horizontal bar and attatched to some heavy angle by the bedsaves the cab from stray items on a full load or careless loaders throwing stuff and hitting the cab. The expanded is great for anchoring bungees too. The rabbit ears on the top keep lumber from sliding off. Were those not on the later racks?
