well I'm doing a EFI swap
83 mini truck
putting in an 85 EFI motor
the swap was easy, got fire, got fuel, key on power sounds grate right ?
now the hard part come in play, are the injectors hitting when they should ?
it sputters but no start,i have one injector leaking (oring) need to fix that
i have about 20 hours in to the swap so far

matched 85 motor, 85 harness, 85 computer ? donor running prior to pull or just
swapping jection stuff ?

got knock LOL

DO not mix match, 85 is specific, and run into issues trying to run
other computers with this setup. Sensors do offer different ranges as well, so
these would be best to be matched to the 85 as well, just slightly different, BUT
could/will affect how this setup operates.

ran into the same thing again on another rig just two weeks ago, hard to start, had
to hold throttle open part way just to have a ROUGH high idle, running stupid rich.
had a 87 puter on it, swap in a 85 puter on the 85 setup, done ! THAT
was it, driving in less then 20 mins.

LABEL everything from donor/parts truck, ( what yr, trans, etc....) and specifcally ECU :)

i have the 22re puters by the numbers, yr and applications around here somewhere if needed ?

hope 20hrs paid, :) at that point its lost its "fun factor"

IT'S ALIVE
did the 20 min cam brakin 2night ;p
smoooth as glass now just need to button up some wires and it's done

 Congrats Duane!

Now can you come over and get mine running smooth as glass.

to cold ??
it was 80-85 in my shop all week end
i was drinking ice tea and had the fan on (no kiding about the 85)

Well I guess if I had a wood burning furnace the size of a small aircraft carrier like some people it would be 85 degrees in my garage too :flipoff2:
