Hey I'm not interested in buying your rig as I already have an HDJ81 that I'm slowly outfiting for the trails ect.

However, I'm really interested in the undercoating/rustproofing and I have a few questions about that if you don't mind answering them-

Where did you get it done at? What was the cost? And how is it holding up?

Do you have some before and or after pics you can share?

I'm thinking of going to Krown in Victoria to have mine done. There is good reviews all over IH8MUD about Krown and the price is quite reasonable for the peace of mind it brings with it...

I only have these 3 pictures of before I undercoated it.
I undercoated myself using a combination of ace of spades and spray on rubberized undercoat.

The frame still had the factory paint on it. The truck was also steamcleaned before it left so it was squeeky clean when I got it out of the can. I ace of spades painted the frame and all of the bare metal underneath I used Spray on. I think I used about 3 cans total. Just lay out a schwack of newspaper, take a wire brush if you have a bit of corrosion at spots (I helped a friend with his truck). I bought my stuff at Acklands Grainger, ProForm is the stuff they use, they should have it in stock.

I would do the same thing with my future landcruiser and I am planning on going the Krown route as well when I get a 77.

Your truck looks good. ARB bumpers are not priced that bad and I have a line on a cheap Safari snorkel. Someone could make my truck expo ready with one pretty quick. Landcruiser sales are pretty slow these days by the looks of things.

Yeah I will try to get to Krown soon. I read on their web site that corrosion is most active in the spring and summer. I would have thought it would be most active in winter with all the salt we use here.

I bought mine from Tyee Imports. It came with a factory central locker a 4'' lift and 33s. I've put some cash into it in the way of mods. So far- ARB front with an M12000. Aux tranny cooler. 3'' complete mandrel exhaust. I plan to add lockers, sliders, and a rear heavy duty bumper. 1 piece at a time. Also, after wheeling it some over the last year I found because of the length of the wagons I need to go with a bigger lift and 35s or 37s. It drags the rear bumper pretty bad commonly. 2DR 70s or 40s are ok with a 4'' lift because they are shorter. But the 60s and 80s need to be higher in order to be equally as capable.

Good luck with the sale. Whoever buys your's will be getting a solid ride.

Note the pictures above are BEFORE the undercoat job.

You can't be a SWB 70 for wheeling, they go just about anywhere. One with lockers is nuts.
My Dad's 73 is almost too nice to take off road. The thought has crossed his mind about bringing one in that is a bit more scratched up so he won't care and worry about it getting pinstriped. It would be a crime to ruin a new paint job.

I purposely waited longer for this to come up because the truck had to have the factory winch and the lockers. I figured i would go all out. I am super pleased with the truck.

I hope this goes within the next month and a half. I would like to get the ball rolling on my search for a 77.
