HDJ-81 steering upgrade to 105 box

Hey folks hope someone can help me sort something I'm working on. My DD 1996 HDJ-81 has been upgraded with the following OEM parts:

44320-60171 vane pump
44110-60202 Steering box - 105
45411-60350 PITMAN arm - 105

To install these I had a local machine shop extend the intermediate shaft. Everything's bolted up fine but I want it to be cleaner so i'm wondering it the 105 intermediate shaft might be a little longer than the 80 series shafts.

Has anyone tackled comparison of the two or happen to have parts sitting around that you could compare?
 
I thought so too but the end of the sector shaft on the new box was almost 2” shorter than the
What was the physical box difference between them? I thought they were largely a straight swap over when blokes here in AU swap them over.
My OEM steering gear box had the variable rate steering on it which adds some overall length to the gearbox. The 105 box is shorter. So it made a gap between the sector shaft and intermediate shaft. This pic shows it:
