has anyone found a decent way to lock their hood?

so i dont even have the hood release under my fj45 hood anymore - just the clips are holding it down - and i am wondering if anyone has come up with a better system - more for security than anything else - i don't want to have little crucial bits removed while i am not looking...i thought of simply mounting a pad lock - but i think that could be a PITA if i needed to open it quickly...i'm thinking some kind of 'modern' hood release connected inside the cab....

my 82 model 45 had a cable hood release factory fitted. maybe you could track down one of those.

yeah late model aussie catches have a under dash release my 84 fj45 has one annoying at times when ya used to just opening a 40 bonnet
