Back at it again today. Master Series Silver day. That stuff is amazing. Let me start off by agreeing with several things I have read... It doesn't come off the things you get it on (skin, glasses, floor, etc.) But it looks great on the parts. All the sanding and prepping is paying off. Even threw some Rustoleum Black on the parts after drying. I'll do the rest of the black tomorrow and then start to reassemble.

The back C-Channel is looking a LOT better.

Ingenious drying method. An arbor on the back of the pickup.

Put the top coat on Harvey's frame today and finished painting all the various pieces that need to be put back onto the car. With the Master Series base layer and Rustoleum satin black over top, things look GREAT! I'm pleased and think I've added a bunch of years onto this rig. Nice not to let New England winters ruin this beauty yet.

Got the new SS brake lines in today as well. Now to install the lift and other parts. After that I'm headed to the muffler shop to get a new exhaust system to match the rest of the truck. The old system is ratty and leaking all over. Hope to have some pics of the lift install and the new tires as of Sunday evening.

I'll get more pics up tomorrow, but after a long day of wrenching I have something pretty in the garage!

QUESTION! The carb cooling fan isn't running and I'm getting some vapor lock in this hot weather. I think I've got a handle on what and where things are, but for some reason some of the old posts don't have the pics anymore. Can someone tell me if this severed wire and the green connector are supposed to be together? I can trace that green wire to the base of the carb cooling fan and the green connector seems to be connected to where the sensor is supposed to be beneath the manifold. Here are two pics. The first is zoomed in and the second zoomed out a bit more. Thanks for any insight!

By your silence I am thinking.... yes. If I was wrong I know people would have corrected me by now. Huzzah!

Yes, carb cooling fan. If I remember right it only runs on shut down. If you are vapor locking, you may have a delivery issue. Check the sight glass on carb when hot.

Found the gold at the end of the rainbow. After driving and camping with the rig a couple weeks, I'm pumped with how the lift is. The big tires also greatly help on the highway, though I'm a dog on big hills. I would say the rear sway bar has been a great add-on. I hate to equate it to a sports car, but compared to stock with a sag, it is tight!

Got my new Eurospec mirrors finally. Used some rubber to make a gasket.

These are great. High quality and very good sight. A bit expensive, but worth it in my opinion. Went through CruiserParts.net. Backordered for 4 months, but eventually arrived.
