last long weekend, after moving s*** in and out of my garage one too many times , I decided to build a shed in my backyard nothing crazy big because of the weird size of my yard and bylaws I ended up with a small 8'x8' shed.
I dug out 1/2 yard of topsoil and put down 1/2 yard of 3/4 crushed granite , foundation is 3 8' 4x4 PT and the floor is made of PT 2x6.
framed the walls with 2x3 because there cheap and easy to work with did the front wall with 2x4 as it has a large door opening.
did my roof old school with rafters on a ridge board, used hurricane ties on the rafter ends and rafter ties on every second rafter pair, installed charcoal asphalt shingles so it would match my roof.
decided a window was needed for some light so i picked up a shed window from home depot ($45) The last time I built something was 15 years ago plus I was trying to use as few materials as possible so I forgot to do a few steps like adding an overhang at the front and back so I had to build them out after .
My neighbor sold me 18 pcs of hardiplank from his reno so I am getting ready to install them wondering if any one has any experience with them , from what i've read they are excellent but a major pita to install
