I passed this 80 the other day in Mondulkiri province, not far from the Cambodia-Vietnam border. 80-series land cruisers aren’t uncommon here, and in rural areas they’re often used well past their expected capacity. This extended-80 example is typical of remote areas where - surprise! - roads are lousy and people need a tough vehicle to get sh!t done. These trucks never rest. They are the ultimate farm vehicle.

City 80s in Phnom Penh, on the other hand, are enviably pristine. My 1998 Toyota has just under 117,000 miles on it

I don't have the eye/familiarity to tell but is that a lengthened chassis or a totally different chassis out back? Leafs do seem a better choice for that load! Looks like it may still be on og axles/wheels and I'd guess the front-end is mostly original. I'd like to see their chassis reinforcements and mods, bet they've had to fix the frame cracks around the front steering components...

The guy surfing his phone while riding on the roof rack is pretty epic.
