Hi guys, I have a 1990 HJ75 Landcruiser, which I've recently done tierods in amongts a number of other jobs.

Anyhow the steering seems to be a lot harder in the right direction than left? I don't believe it's related to tierods either... I'm thinking something along power steering etc line.

Anyone had this issue?

I would lift it off the ground and try it.
On our cambered roads, turning right is always a fraction harder.

Thanks for the replies guys. I re-did the tierod ends today, as the left wheel was definitely slightly out (eg two whole threads on the tie-rod end!).

The alignment looks a lot better now, and driving feels better.

It has made steering easier, but right is still 'slightly' harder. I would think that it is what Rosco has suggested...

Have you checked the steering dampener... The valving in mine packed up, and it would be hard one way and not the other. Pull it full extension and it would swap and be hard the other way rather than the same each way.

It is possible that the steering box is on its way out and will need to be replaced or rebuilt.

But, check all other things first - and if this *just* happened, look at other things first.

Also check the orientation of the clamps for the tie rods, if they are in the wrong position it will rub on the radius arms......

Go somewhere quiet and try driving on the wrong side of the road and see what its like. Make sure there is no roadtrains coming:D
