Hard Half Doors... need advice and pics!

Howdy,

After 28 years I took the top of my 40 for the first time last night, what a different experience! And if someone told me that all the rattles lie in the top, I would have done it years ago.

SOOOO< this weekends projects are to weld up a tailgate and chop down a set of doors into half doors.

ANY ADVICE? Any PICS? any resources?

I like the look of the door having a straight line from the top of the tub and then half way through the door starting to angle up toward the windshield. I also like the straight chop from windshield to doorpost, any ideas of which is easier? Got pics.

What do most people do for the catch? everything in the door is basically mounted where I would like to chop?

I have built probably 20 sets of half doors. The way I do it is take the window frame off the door. Then draw a line from the body line of the tub thru the door to the front. Then in front I come back 3 in and draw a 45 deg line down to the parallel line(the one even with the tub. Cut that section off and cap it. Shorten the panel where the window crank is to match and keep the factory latch. If you want send me a pm and I will give you my #. Good Luck
