Harbor Freight Pipe Bender

Has anyone every used a Harbor Freight pipe bender for bending exhaust system? Looking at this model, http://www.harborfreight.com/16-ton-hydraulic-pipe-bender-35336.html
will be bending 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 low carbon.

Exhaust tubing is too thin from my experience. I've tried it in a similar bender that I have. It just crushed the tube before it bent.

I've read if you fill the pipe with sand and tape it off it will prevent it from crushing. But I've never tried it.

i always buy the bends and weld them together to much screwing around with the bender .you have to mount it in a tree for bending long pipe and it wont work laying down
