its you cam gear change it out to a metal one... ask me how i know,

I might have hardened seats installed if I have to pull the head.

Let me know if you do. After project reseal which includes either a new 3 speed tranny or a rebuild and sealing the xfer, rear main, and pan I need to pull the head and have a valve job done and replace the intake exhaust manifold.

Ya I kinda figured that the non metallic gear is suspect

I had the seats done on the resto. The shop said that I only had to do the exhaust seats so thats what I did.
