Handheld GPS w/ Dog Tracker Suggestions

Hey, my birthday is coming up and I've decided upon a handheld GPS that has a unit that I can attach to my dog's collar to track when we hunt.

Problem is, I have no idea where to start. Here's what I need:

Durable. It will be used hunting. Price isn't important if it will last a long time.
Can track my dog (obvious)
Handheld
Prefer buttons, hate touch screens.
Expandable storage (SD card slot etc)
CR123A batteries would be sweet but I think at this point they're all rechargeable lithium ion.

Garmin Astro is the only thing I know about...there are other pet tracking only units. But they dont have a mapping gps to go along with them.

There is also the sport dog. I haven't used that model but I like SD products.
